LowCam UVIS Supports Historical Security Efforts During Pope's Visit to the United States

Mooresville, NC - Advanced Detection Technology, LLC, the global leader in under vehicle inspection systems, is honored to have supplied its LowCam® portable UVIS to secure Pope Francis’ historical visit to the United States.

Pope Francis received a red carpet welcome and has been greeted by thousands of excited Americans who line the streets and continue to follow his every move. Scheduled to make appearances in Washington, D.C., New York and Philadelphia, the Pope’s five-day visit will be the biggest, multiple-day security event in Department of Homeland Security history.

Declaring the operation as a “national special security event,” the U.S. Secret Service joined by the FBI and reportedly as many as 50 other federal, state and local agencies spent over a year planning and preparing in anticipation of the Pope’s visit. Several of these agencies, as well as private security firms, have secured LowCam under vehicle inspection systems to aid in this event's security efforts.

“It’s a celebratory event for everybody else,” NY Police Commissioner Bill Bratton says, “however, for us, this is a security event of the highest level.”

“It’s all hands on deck,” said Paul Abbate, who leads the FBI Washington Field Office. “I would say it’s one of the largest, if not the largest, special event we’ve ever seen."
